I know there's a huge lack of new work on here (and my website); I'm currently working on a project and it should be done early-ish next year!

I was getting tired of drawing so tightly. Sometimes it's hard for me to do things loosely, like people without too much planning/sketching beforehand.
I'm trying to update this more frequently! It seems I've been really lazy about it..

Recently I was able to screenprint a few things for Florin Buddhist Temple's Obon Festival/mini-bazaar. This is how it came out:

I ran out of most of the bags (there are still brown ones and one black one left), but I had a lot of cards, so some of those are still left waiting to be written on!
Besides that.. recently I feel all flower-ed out. On to the next?

2 poster/flyer designs for Cortez's annual Obon festival. It has been printed in black on color paper, so this was a test to try out some colors.
A few other things are in the works, but not close to done yet.


I did, however, get a new sketchbook! (Hopefully in the future I will also get a real camera or somehow find my very old one..)

prints & book

Here are is a photo of the prints available here. I ordered one of each to see how they came out. I'm quite pleased with them!



And the books that I mentioned before got here today! In the picture is each side of the book. Both sides are the 'front'. It is read in both directions if you flip it over.
I apologize for the phone photos. I'm currently out of a digital camera.

I can't seem to get away from circles.
Lately I've been looking at microscopic images. I especially like cross sections of plants. I really enjoyed working on vellum. Unfortunately it doesn't translate well scanned.

suits

Random drawing maybe a week ago. I'm not one to use a whole lot of color, and I don't use photoshop much except for touch ups, but I thought I'd try it out on this.


End result. Sloppy, I know. I didn't go in with the intention of adding any color. Maybe I'll give it another try in the future?

'head dress'

I didn't realize how much I missed drawing text until I started doing it again. I'll be putting together a head dress book, so hopefully the finished product will be complete soon.

Also, slightly unrelated, but I found this and was wondering, does anyone know any Russian?
