the old man

I really like drawing old people.
Also, website has been updated one more time!

a few progress shots (thanks instagram!)

still circles

Still doing the circle dots.
Here are some snaps of a painting I just completed!

I'm a little behind on playtag.
Gotta catch up!

circles

Recently I've been doing all of these circles. Two ink circle drawings and a big painting.
I recorded the process and also learned how to make .gifs, so...

A few more things are being worked on. Hopefully they'll be finished soon!

coffee bloom/carpaccio

I'm still here.
Something new.

Painted with instant coffee!

Also, I have a couple of pieces in the latest issue of Carpaccio Magazine. You can see it here!

The Goonies

Full illustration for current issue of Hyphen Magazine.

the throwback issue

Here is a preview of an illustration (illustrations?) I did for The Throwback Issue of Hyphen magazine. The online preview can be seen here. The full story and a full page illustration (not the same as above) are only in the hard copy.

I know there's a huge lack of new work on here (and my website); I'm currently working on a project and it should be done early-ish next year!

scarf 1

Close up of something recent. I've been really into (drawing/painting) scarves recently.

Also, I recently updated my website. There is a design section now!

little match girl

Just finished. I didn't think too hard about this one and it felt nice to just do.

This is the first piece of a series in my head. Lately I've been starting a lot of things, but I haven't finished them yet..

small things

The triangles are from maybe a month or so ago. The girl is from today.
I was getting tired of drawing so tightly. Sometimes it's hard for me to do things loosely, like people without too much planning/sketching beforehand.
I'm trying to update this more frequently! It seems I've been really lazy about it..

new girls

Some girls from a week or so ago. Recently I've been playing with using pen and pencil as well as texture.

I can't seem to shake drawing heads since doing the head dresses..

owlish

Recent watercolor. It feels good to use color again.. I was going through an all-ink phase for a while.

'head dress'

I didn't realize how much I missed drawing text until I started doing it again. I'll be putting together a head dress book, so hopefully the finished product will be complete soon.

Also, slightly unrelated, but I found this and was wondering, does anyone know any Russian?

...start!

selections from Head Dress series

The website has been updated with new work! Hopefully I will constantly be keeping this blog updated with what I'm working on.
Go!
